History
Walnut was founded around 1871 by the town company which placed out a town places on the MK&T (Katy) Railroad. A company originally known as a town Glenwood. Inside 1874 the name was changed to Walnut for the Walnut Post Office established at the places inside 1870. A title Walnut come from either a nearby Large Walnut Creek.
